Husband and wife team Chris and Andrea Mullineux are passionate about the Swartland and about making wine.

Theirs is a family run boutique winery, highly focused on producing a select range of elegant, hand-crafted wines made from grape varieties best suited to the Swartland.

A natural, minimalist approach is followed in the vineyards and cellar.  They have put together a group vineyards in what they consider to be the most interesting parts of the Swartland, which are mostly found around the shale and schist based Riebeek Kasteel Mountain, and the granite based Paardeberg mountain. 

The vineyards are planted with grape varieties (which are mostly Mediterranean in origin) that are ideally suited to the environment, and are farmed sustainably and in harmony with their surroundings.

In the cellar, apart from minimal amounts of sulphur, nothing is added to, or removed from the wines and no use is made of any yeasts, acids, tannins, enzymes, or fining and filtering agents.

The Mullineux's aim to bottle wines that are a true expression of the Swartland. All steps of the winemaking process are taken with this aim in mind, and the highest possible attention to detail is payed in everything they do.

Winemaker of the Year - 2016
US publication Wine Enthusiast has named Andrea Mullineux its 2016 Winemaker of the Year as part of its annual Wine Star Awards.
These awards honour individuals and companies that have contributed to the success of the wine industry and have shown “energy, courage, groundbreaking vision and business acumen”. This is the first time a South African winemaker has received this honour and only the third woman winemaker winner in the 17-year history of the awards.
