A trio of South African tenor singers have taken Greece by storm! They were awarded the third Golden Buzzer of the 2018 season by host, Giorgos Lianos!
The trio consisting of Sandile Sikhosana, Smanga Thango, and Luvuyo Situmane, call themselves , The South African Tenors, and auditioned for the second season of Greece’s Got Talent.
They have been living and working in Greece for 6 months as performers in hotels around the country, and have built up quite a following.
They got rave reviews from the judges, and also scored themselves the golden buzzer which means they are set to go through to the semi-final of the competition. Two of the three judges gave the trio a standing ovation.
The first judge, Sakis Tanimanidis, said he was taken by surprise, and it would be one of those moments they remember as a magic moment. The second judge, Giorgos Kapoutzidis, commented on how unexpected the performance was and that it left him speechless. He praised the trio for signing up for the show, and that Greece is has been a multicultural country for thousands of years. He finished by saying that he feels the trio are extremely talented and are serious candidates to win this years show.
Finally, the host of the show, Giorgos Lianos, walked out onto the stage, and the crowd went wild. He went over to the judges table and they chatted in Greek, before the host slammed down on the golden buzzer! Just like that, Luvuyo, Simangaliso and Sandile made history as the first South African golden buzzer act in the whole of Europe.
Sandile Sikhosana said on his Facebook page; "We may not be perfect but this moment we felt God blessing us . Thank you to Greece got talent and thanks to the whole world . Thank you South Africa."
